Recognizing a Lifetime of Achievements

by UPMC Susquehanna

During Susquehanna Health Foundation’s 3rd Annual Lifetime Achievement Awards, held May 19 at DiSalvo’s Restaurant in Williamsport, major donors (who gave $10,000 or more) and key inspirational individuals were honored for their significant impacts on UPMC Susquehanna and health care for the community. The event began with an outdoor reception and included a dinner sponsored by Stantec, award presentations and dancing to entertainment sponsored by Citizens & Northern Bank.

“Many individuals and organizations contribute their time, effort, leadership and generosity to UPMC Susquehanna,” said Steve Johnson, President of UPMC Susquehanna. “We are thankful to be a part of a community that gives so much. The recognitions awarded during this event highlight several whose contributions have been inspirational.”

UPMC Susquehanna honored two community members and one organization at this year’s event.

Jim Mothersbaugh received the Trustee Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes an individual who has shown exemplary service, selfless giving and commitment to the goals of UPMC Susquehanna. As a founding trustee of Susquehanna Health System Alliance in 1994, and more than 25 years of service to the system overall, Jim has played a key role in its subsequent expansion, all the way to 2016’s new partnership with UPMC.

William McCauley, MD, FACP, FCCP, was honored with the Physician Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes an outstanding physician who demonstrated career-long service to patients, the medical profession and their communities. Among his many accomplishments, Bill introduced new capabilities and technologies to intensive care including respiratory therapy services and the modern pulmonary function laboratory for patients in this region. His leadership and vision have significantly shaped the delivery of care in his specialty and guided the continued growth of UPMC Susquehanna.

The Philanthropist Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Hudock Capital Group. The Philanthropist Award honors an individual, family or business with a proven record of exceptional generosity through direct financial support. From the Foundation’s Count on Us for Life and Continuing the Innovation Capital Campaigns, to matching donations for #GivingTuesday, the Hudock family channels their passion for giving back into everything they do and encourages others to do the same.
