Philanthropist of the Year—The Hudock Family—Williamsport

Philanthropist of the Year honors an individual or family with a proven record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support, demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility, and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic roles in the community.

Few families represent “exceptional generosity” better than the Hudock Family. Firm owners Barbara Hudock and her son Michael as well as their spouses Mike Sr. and Lyneah, and the Hudock Capital Group firm have been championing the importance of cutting-edge health care and the healing power of the arts from their beginning.

Always eager to spread the importance of philanthropy, the Hudock Family actively and regularly participates in charitable campaigns across a diverse portfolio of causes. To date, Hudock Capital Group and the Hudock Family have donated more than $3.8 million to the community.

The Hudock family has supported UPMC Susquehanna through generous cash gifts as well as gifts of local artwork and a 1923 Steinway piano to create a healing environment for our patients and visitors. The Hudocks understand the importance of inspiring others to participate in philanthropy and provided a significant #GivingTuesday match gift in 2014 and 2015 to Susquehanna Health Foundation.

The Hudock Family has made philanthropy a priority for its business, donating over 5% of the company’s gross revenues to charities. They also match 100% of employee contributions up to $5,000 to 501c (3) organizations and all employees are encouraged to actively volunteer for non-profit organizations. The Family is actively involved in health, education and art initiatives throughout Lycoming County and surrounding areas. In response to Hurricane Harvey, Hudock Capital partnered with the American Red Cross to accept donations, matching dollar for dollar up to $5,000.
